Little Tikes Neighborhood Market Review and Giveaway!

When I was a little girl one of my favorite toys was an ice cream parlor that my older sister and I would play for hours. Even to this day 20+ years later I can still remember playing with these plastic ice cream cones in our living room. These were some of my best childhood memories and it is very important to me for my kids to experience memories like mine.

We have always been huge fans of Little Tikes because they make quality toys that safe, fun and get kids imaginations going wild. Little Tikes has been manufacturing kids toys in Hudson, Ohio since 1970 and celebrated it’s 40th anniversary in 2010. Little Tikes is committed to making safe, quality, durable fun toys that encourage discovery and learning through active, creative, and social play.

Little Tikes sent us the Neighborhood Market and it was love at first sight. The kids were so eager to get the market out of the box and start playing.The Market is actually 3 different markets in 1, with a bakery, ice cream shop and fruit stand.

There are a lot of pieces but the market is very simple to put together. It took us about 30 minutes to fully assemble. The illustrated instructions are very simple to follow and tell you what to do step by step.

The Neighborhood Market comes with 23 different accessories which includes:

Cash register with money and credit card
3 lemons, 3 Oranges, 4 Cupcakes, 2 bunches of bananas
1 Ice cream Scooper, 2 ice cream cones, 2 ice cream scoops

Jeremy was at school when we first got the market put together so Aubrey was able to turn it into her own little “Aubrey’s Market”! The marquee at the top is actually a chalk board so you can change the name as many times as you like. The kids loved this because as they took turns being the cashier they would change the name.

The cash register opens with the push of a button and comes with a red credit card which you can swipe on the side or 3 green cash bills. These are plastic, so no need to worry that they will get tore up. The cash register buttons do push down but they don’t make any noise (which is a plus for mom!)

The awning under the marquee is red and white stripes and made from cloth material. The Awning actually pulls down and winds up so you can close up shop when the market is closed.

The thing that I love most about the Neighborhood Market is that it is the perfect play toy for a group of kids or just one. Aubrey had a blast playing market by herself and when Jeremy got home from school they played for an hour together and had so much fun.

The kids decided that they wanted to take the market outside so we set everything up in the front yard. The market has wheels on one side and a handle on the other so that you can pull it where ever you want to go just like a real market stand vendor.

Here is a look from the cashiers side of the market. The front side has clear sliding doors that open and close and this side is completely open making it easier to grab things.

This is by far one of my favorite toys that the kids have and it reminds me of my very own Ice Cream Parlor that I had as a child. I am so excited that my kids will be able to make those special memories and have a blast in the process.
